2010 Raffle Car Update

www.deloreancarshow.com

As of today, the minimum number of ticket has been declaired met! The car WILL be raffled June 19, 2010.

Dave Bauerle, who has been servicing DeLoreans in Ohio for years, has checked out the car and done some fine tuning on it, and the raffle car is ready to roll.

This is a clean car, as you can see by the pictures on the www.deloreancarshow.com website.

A maximum of 600 tickets will be sold, so don't miss out on the best raffle car yet.

Here are the last two e-mails from Dave:

Ken,
We have had the opportunity to check out this year's raffle car. We find it to be a very good car. The frame is very good. The stainless is excellent and the finish of the engine cover and the louvers looks new. The binacle has been recovered. The seats, while not perfect, are in very good condition. The headliners are good. The tires are not the original NTC's and show very little wear. The front bumper has some eyebrow showing but is still good. It runs and sounds very good. Although we have already driven it some, I plan to put as many miles as I can this coming week to catch any surprises and correct them.

Below is a list of things Dave has done to the car to bring it to top condition.

Ken,
I just sent you my testimonial of the raffle car. Just so you know, the following is a list of things that we have done so far:
Replace left mirror
Replaced shifter boot(from Dave and Julee)
Repaired right door headliner panel(retaining clip was broken and pushing against the trim covering)
Repaired windshield washer
Replace tie-rod end boots
Rebuilt left rear brake caliper
Re-sealed oil pressure light switch
Replaced binacle
Serviced A/C(still uses R-12)
Re-painted the louvers, engine cover and side vents in both quarter panels
Adjusted louvers for better fit
Repaired engine cover latch so that cover pops up when released
Cleaned and reinstalled trailing arm covers
Replaced the weatherstripping on the doors at the roof T-Panel
Other misc. items

I plan to go over it with a blending pad this week.
I would like to buy raffle tickets also. Is that ethical since we have been preparing the car for the show?
Dave

The answer to Dave's last question is yes.
No one listed on the DCS incorporation list can buy tickets and neither can their immediate family like spouse, children or siblings. Anyone in a position to be paid for their time is not eligible. It does not go past that. Also anyone who has a financial obligation or interest in the car like a vendor that has received payments for repairs or has profited by this directly.

Volunteers of the show may also participate. Those that helped with the car have NOT been paid for neither parts nor labor so there is no financial interest in the car may participate. The raffle is open to anyone over the age of 21 and void where prohibited by law.

Dave's work was volunteer, the parts were donated at no cost to DCS, and he has no financial interest in it, so he is eligible.

Thanks Dave from all of us, buy plenty of tickets, and good luck!

Based on current sales, the odds of someone attending the show winning the car is a bit over 50%. With the previous three cars, we had one winner not at the show and two winners at the show.

Drawing is done by a random drawing out of a drum with the winning ticket being pulled. Tickets are displayed usually on a table about an hour before the drawing. Maximum of 600 tickets to be sold.

As of this e-mail we have close to 400 tickets sold, so we have decided that the minimum sales has officially been met, and the raffle WILL OCCUR!

We got the car back yesterday from Dave, and it's on its way to Lexington for display.

Purchase tickets on-line at http://rafflecar.deloreancarshow.com until June 15, or at the show until sold out.

Last but not least:
Over the last few days, registrations have really picked up, so the number of you keeps growing.

We still can use some help on hotel rooms. If you are not registered for the Marriott Griffin Gate we would appreciate it if you can. If you are staying elsewhere, please consider registering at the Marriot instead. You really miss out on a lot of the DCS experience by not staying at the host hotel, and right now we need about another 25 rooms for the three nights to be sold to meet our obligation. Please remember that the sleeping rooms make the show affordable by offsetting the cost of the facility. In addition, the DCS room rate is a good deal. Book on-line at http://hotel.deloreancarshow.com or if you call the hotel, make sure to mention group code DCSDCSA to get our special room rate.

Next Sunday (June 13th ) you will be able to download the tentative schedule from www.deloreancarshow.com.

See you in about two weeks in Lexington

Ken
